The Power of Play is a 60 minute session that focuses on exploring how play empowers young people to build Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills that propel their academic, home, and recreational growth. Through various games, activities, and discussions participants will directly experience the benefits and power of play. Parents and caregivers will learn how play can help foster Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills with their youth.
This session is the first of a four-part series that equips parents with tools and strategies to implement Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into their daily lives at home, helping support their youth’s emotional growth and confidence through play. The series follows UI’s coach methodology by exploring ways to help kids feel safe, then build skills, and eventually to foster independence.
