Participant Choice and Creativity is a 60 minute session that focuses on the importance of defining and intentionally integrating participant choice into everyday activities to promote youth independence. Through various games, activities, and discussions participants will plan strategies for offering choices daily into routines and play to empower youth to explore their own ideas and solutions and make independent choices.
This session is the last of a four-part series that equips parents with tools and strategies to implement Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into their daily lives at home, helping support their youth’s emotional growth and confidence through play. The series follows UI’s coach methodology by exploring ways to help kids feel safe, then build skills, and eventually to foster independence.
